One clear workflow

Explain. Organize. Remind. Respond.

Explaining the document is the starting point. The other tools help when the document contains something you want to keep, remember, or act on.

Explain

Understand what the document is actually saying.

All plans

Start with a short answer, then read a fuller explanation that gives important wording the room it needs. The original stays beside the explanation during your current browser session so you can compare them.

  • Upload JPEG or PNG images up to 7 MB, or PDF files up to 15 pages and 10 MB.
  • See important details, dates, amounts, measurements, and possible action items separated into readable sections.
  • Use page references on longer PDFs to find the relevant wording in the original.
  • Ask follow-up questions about terms, instructions, dates, charges, or anything else found in the document.
  • Copy text or use read-aloud controls when supported by your browser.
Example

Instead of only repeating “renewal is subject to written notice,” DocPlainly can explain who may need to send notice, what date appears to matter, and where that wording was found.

Organize

Keep only the explanations you choose to save.

Free and paid options

Secure History turns a one-time explanation into something you can return to. Saving is always optional, and the original uploaded image or PDF is not added to Secure History.

  • Free accounts can save up to three explanations in Secure History on one device.
  • Paid plans add more saved explanations and optional encrypted cloud access across signed-in devices.
  • Choose your own recovery key or DocPlainly-managed access for encrypted cloud history.
  • Search saved explanations by a date, amount, company, document type, topic, or action.
  • Keep saved follow-up questions, answers, response drafts, and document status together.
Your paperwork dashboard

See explanations that may need attention, recently saved paperwork, upcoming reminders, and unfinished drafts without searching through old files.

Remind

Turn an important future date into a useful reminder.

Basic, Plus, and Premium

DocPlainly looks for future dates that may deserve attention, such as a due date, renewal, response window, appointment, or warranty expiration. You decide whether anything becomes a reminder.

  • See why a date may matter instead of receiving a date without context.
  • Create an email reminder for the day of, one day before, or three days before.
  • Add a date to Google Calendar or download a standard calendar event.
  • Review and cancel scheduled reminders from the dashboard.
  • Keep the reminder connected to the saved explanation that produced it.
Example

If a notice says a response is due August 20, DocPlainly can surface the date, explain what the document connects it to, and offer reminder choices.

Respond

Move from understanding the document to preparing what comes next.

Basic, Plus, and Premium

When the document supports it, DocPlainly can suggest a small set of relevant response tools. The draft stays grounded in the explanation and is yours to review, edit, copy, or ignore.

  • Draft a clarification request, cancellation message, billing question, appeal request, or document request when relevant.
  • Create a practical phone-call checklist when calling makes more sense than writing.
  • Use document-specific response choices rather than a generic list shown for every file.
  • Save drafts with the explanation so you can return to unfinished work.
  • Download an explanation as a PDF or email the PDF to your account address.
Example

A billing notice may offer a draft asking what a listed fee is for. A renewal notice may instead offer a cancellation request or a call checklist.

Your choice at every step

Use the explanation without building a permanent file collection.

Uploaded files are processed to create the explanation. The original image or PDF is not added to Secure History and is not intended to be retained after processing. Saving an explanation, creating a reminder, and keeping a draft are separate choices you make.
